DESCRIPTION
Existing derelict commercial / residential properties were demolished to create the development site. Underpinning and strengthening works were carried out to the adjacent property.
This award winning building provides a landmark feature in a prominent position adjacent to the famous Glasgow art galleries.
The building is designed as a hybrid steel, loadbearing masonry and timber structure. The ground floor open plan commercial space is created by a steel framed structure. The residential apartments are formed using masonry and precast concrete to maximise fire protection, heat insulation and acoustic performance. The roof and upper apartment is formed with lightweight steel and timber to maximise the Architectural space.
